| The CSB CARE Audio-Visual Player along with the included Metsudah Chumash/Rashi module is designed to enhance Hebrew/English reading and comprehension skills, while building knowledge of the Chumash. It has been scientifically proven that multi-sensory (audio/visual) reading improves the overall performance of children with a diverse range of reading and learning disabilities. This software is one of the first to apply this successful method to a Hebrew Chumash. It is a major innovation addressing the Hebrew reading needs of students, designed for school as well as at-home use. CSB’s current project is the development of customized recording software that will allow parents and teachers to record their own material for their children. These recordings can seamlessly be integrated into the CSB CARE Player to create a powerful reading tool. |

| The Software | ||
| This highly flexible software offers a combined audio and visual presentation of the Chumash and Rashi with linear translation. Each segment of text is highlighted as it is read aloud. The CSB CARE Player allows the user to modify nearly every aspect of the visual and audio presentations. These user-friendly, configurable settings allow the user to customize text size, color, reading speed and flow, feature accessibility, and the voice command system. Over 50 different settings provide an unparalleled level of control. A key feature of The CSB CARE Player is that the software will never begin in the middle of a phrase or posuk. For a child with dyslexia, focusing or learning issues, it is particularly frustrating to hear scattered fragments of audio while trying to fast forward or rewind sequential media. Completely circumventing this possible scenario, the Metsudah Chumash module is divided into tens of thousands of individual audio segments, each with its defined beginning and end. Consequently, each navigation key in the software produces a reading that starts at the beginning of a sentence or a phrase and ends at its natural conclusion. The resultant structure and clarity are an invaluable aid for the student. |
