CSB Zmanim Hotline 718-331-TIME (8463)
CSB is proud to announce a new Zmanim Hotline. Standard zmanim calendars are generally inaccessible to the blind and visually impaired. CSB devoted significant development time to create a dynamic telephone system to furnish anyone, anywhere with the zmanim for their location. Anyone can call the system, enter their zip code and receive all the necessary zmanim for that day. CSB is constantly adding useful features to the system for both visually impaired and sighted users.
IMPORTANT! Please be advised that CSB provides this free service on an "as is" basis and accepts no responsibility for errors which may occur due to inaccurate times. Although CSB provides these zmanim with seconds, it is important to note that there is a one-minute margin of error due to temperature, barometric pressure, and several other factors. Basically speaking, almost all of the zmanim depend upon when the sun rises and sets. When we see the sun rise in the morning, it is physically still below the horizon, but due to the way the light of the sun bends through the earth's atmosphere, we see it above the horizon. The calculations used by CSB can compute to the millisecond when the sun can be seen by us for a very specific combination of temperature, pressure, and elevation because we know how the sun bends for each of these variables. Since however, these variables are not readily available and change so frequently, it is impossible to achieve this accuracy on our system.
