DBS Torah Library (Braille Display)

CSB has recently developed and distributed a Torah software for refreshable Braille displays.

Braille readers have always been limited by the shortage of traditional material available.  Additionally, even the most basic set of Chumash and Rashi in Braille is many volumes.

Refreshable Braille displays attach to standard computer systems and have hundreds of tiny electronic pins which move up and down to write in Braille whatever is on the computer screen.  CSB has completed a software which converts the available Torah CD’s into the refreshable Braille format and gives blind users access to over 500 entire volumes instantly.  Users can move from volume to volume, search for text, and have instant access to hundreds of printed volumes on a display smaller than a box of tissues.

CSB clients using the new software are studying in Yeshiva, teaching, and fulfilling their life-long dream to learn Torah with access to the same Tanach, Talmud, Halachic texts, Midrashim and other works that are available to sighted
people, limitlessly.
